The Sky We Shared follows James Hamilton and Gabriel Shui from a personal ad in late-1990s Los Angeles through decades of love, addiction, recovery, family pressure, career upheaval, travel, betrayal, and humor.
The central idea is not that they remain together because they are destined to. They stay because, repeatedly, they decide the relationship is worth repairing. Their love is chosen.
It is the story of two imperfect men who keep choosing each other—not because love is easy, but because neither can imagine a life without the other.
